REMODELING

POPULARITY OF RENOVATIONS & REMODELING

According to the latest (2013) American Housing Survey (AHS), published by the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the median age of owner-occupied homes is 37 years old, compared to only 27 years old in 1993. This aging trend indicates the desire of home owners to stay – meaning greater demand for expansion or remodel of their existing home. Whether you’ve outgrown your existing floor plan, really enjoy the neighborhood you live in or are just ready for a change of scenery without leaving your property, choosing to stay and remodel is a popular choice.

TO RENOVATE OR REMODEL?

To renovate means to make new again. For years we’ve been helping our customers create a current look for their kitchen, bathroom, entertainment area, patios and more to give a new look and feel without a complete rebuild. This may include painting, re-facing cabinets, installing new light fixtures, or adding other finishes and fixtures. The original design isn’t altered drastically, but is updated to a new standard.

Renovating a room in your home, especially a kitchen, not only makes the space more attractive, but may also add value. For example, updating the appliances to stainless steel, the countertops to granite and replacing the cabinets may be more appealing to potential buyers and give you an opportunity to get a return on your investment.

What our client dave thinks:

Reliant Construction did an outstanding job renovating our rental property. I worried about not living in the area to follow the renovation in person, but when I started working with Blair, my questions were always answered and great solutions were suggested with my budget in mind. I won't hesitate to contact Reliant for any future projects I may have.

Because remodeling involves complex design considerations as well as construction, electric, and plumbing expenses, it typically costs more than renovating. Before you begin any remodeling projects, it makes sense to consult with an experienced design build contractor or architect for advice.

With proper guidance, lots of research and a clear idea of needs and requirements, a well-planned remodel can dramatically increase the value of your home. It can also help to make your home more efficient whether it’s to reduce heating and cooling costs or improve the quality of time you and your family spend at home. Looking for a complete transformation? We can help you with that as well.
